Gunners aiming for a shot at top spot

This weekend Arsenal face Everton at the Emirates Stadium as they bid to continue their incredible march up the Barclays Premier League table.
It was only a matter of weeeks ago that the majority of pundits had written of the north Londoner's chances of winning the big prize but now those same experts are being forced to eat their words. The nadir, of course, came with their 3-0 home humbling at the hands of Chelsea who were viewed as 'champions-elect' after such a commading result.
However, since then it is Arsene Wenger's men not Carlo Ancelotti's that have played like champions with the leaders winning just two league matches since then while their chasers have dropped just two points.
With the Gunners widely expected to win their match against Bolton on Wednesday, the gap will be just one point going into the weekend's fixtures and Chelsea know that any slip-up away at Hull could see them replaced at the top of the table.
The doubt over Arsenal though remains their ability in the big matches. They were blown away by Chelsea, beaten by Manchester United despite outplaying the champions and were very fortunate now to be several goals down at Anfield before staging a second half fightback. Still, they continue to beat all the teams that they should - with the exception of Burnley - and pose a huge threat to Chelsea's potential success.
Another win against Everton and they really will start to believe.
