Green Day to star in screen musical 'American Idiot'

Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong will perform in the film version of the Broadway musical, which was inspired by Green Day's 2004 album 'American Idiot'.
Tom Hanks's production company 'Playtone Productions' took Mamma Mia! from the stage to the silver screen with huge success. They now hope to bring American Idiot to cinemas by 2013.
Armstrong willresurrecthis part as St.Jimmy, the tickets sales declined once Armstrong left. When the show closed at the end of AprilGreenDay performed an hour-long set 'celebrating' the show and its successful run.
Armstrong revealed via twitter that the band were working on new material " There's a ton of new songs. The Direction is fresh and Hi energy. feels Great'.
He's also been helping his 16 year old son and his punk band 'Emily's Army' record a 14 track album....
Green Day currently have no tour scheduled. All Green Day tickets and tour date information will be updated online as and when details are released.
