Green Day to enter Hall of Fame?

It has been suggested that the Music Hall of Fame rules may be changed so that younger and fresher talent will eligible for nomination. Currently, the rules state that it has to be at least 25 years since the artists' debut album before they are able to be put forward, however, it seems that this is set to change.

Green Day are reportedly one of the acts who might be in line for a Hall of Fame nomination if this rule change is approved. Green Day have been one of the most influential US rock acts over the last twenty years, but they cannot be nominated due to the fact that their first album was released less then 25 years ago.

By changing the number of years to 20, acts such as Nirvana, Guns'n'Roses and The Smashing Pumpkins could also qualify for a Hall of Fame nomination.

Green Day are set to return to the UK later this year. The US rockers are set to play two massive shows next summer in Manchester and London. Green Day will perform at the Lancashire County Cricket Club on June 16 followed by Wembley Stadium on June 19.

Green Day tickets are still available for both shows, but we can confirm that tickets are selling fast.
