Green Day won the "Favourite Rock Artist" gong at the 37th American Music Awards in Los Angeles on 22 November. They scooped the prize in front of favourites Kings of Leon in a show which saw Michael Jackson win four posthumous awards, and Taylor Swift, who won an astonishing five awards including "Artist of the Year".
As reported by tixdaq.com last week, Whitney Houston took home the coveted International Music Award, an accolade given only seven times in the show's 37-year history, enthralling the audience last night with a powerful rendition of I Didn't Know My Own Strength, one of the strongest tracks from her 2009 album I Look to You and the song initially slated as the first single from that album. Also performing at the awards was American Pop Idol winner Adam Lambert, who shocked and awed the audience with an X-rated performance of For Your Entertainment.
Green Day's UK tour has finished - but tickets to Green Day's upcoming special stadium shows in June 2010 are available to compare and buy at tixdaq.com.
