Grand National preview

One of the great istitutions and annual events on the sporting calender comes round again on Saturday, as the 164th Grand National takes place at Aintree.
The final list of the 40 runners will be declared on the 7th of April, with racing lovers and occasional betters alike looking forward to the biggest event in the racing calender.
Last years winner 'Don't Push It', ridden by A.P McCoy, enters again this year. McCoy won last years Grand National on his 15th attempt, bagging the BBC Sports Personality of the year for his troubles. Don't Push It weights 5lbs extra this year than last year, weighing in at 11st 5lb, and no winner since Red Rum's third triumph in 1978 has won over that weight. 2008 winner 'Comply or Die' runs again this year, ridden by Timmy Murphy.
This years prize money is 950,000, with the winner pocketing the largest prize winning sum in racing history. An audience of 70,000 people will witness the race regarded as the world's greatest Steeplechase.
