Gareth Barry has said that Jack Wilshere should take part in the European Under-21 Championship "for the good of England."
Wilshere,19, was a key figure on his senior competitive debut against Wales in a 2-0 win on Saturday, but has expressed his desire to take part in the Under-21's Championship in Denmark this summer.
Barry, who will be captain for tonight's friendly against Ghana, said: "For the development and good of England, they (young players like Wilshere) should be out there playing for the Under-21s. If you look at other countries, you generally see them fielding their best players."
Football tickets are available now.
