Frankie Boyle criticises book publishers
By Liam Tailor, on 11th January 2010, 16:10 UTC
Frankie Boyle has attacked publishers for creating a degraded books market teeming with celebrity memoirs. In an interview with The Guardian, he said: 'Right now if you read the Bookseller there are publishers moaning about how terrible celebrity biographies now are. How they're all badly written and say nothing. It's a fair point, but don't they realise that they're responsible for creating this toxic gene?'
Frankie Boyle is currently preparing for a massive 100-date tour of the UK that takes in almost every major venue in the country. Starting in Glasgow (his hometown), the tour will see dates in Manchester, London and Edinburgh, among many others. Tickets to all events have been selling fast, so fans looking to be shocked and entertained in equal proportion will need to secure theirs now.
