First round matches of World Darts Championship announced

The Ladbrokes World Darts Championship is only days away with the first darts being thrown on Friday December 18th.
Tickets to each day of the championship that runs until the final on January 3rd are still available via this website.
Alexandra Palace will be opening it's doors to the biggest tournament in darts for the third year in a row. The original headquarters of the BBC is still the home of popular entertainment especially since it took over from the Circus tavern as a the venue for the PDC's flagship event.
With £1m in prize money and £200,000 going to the winner, this tournament is the richest in the sports history and 72 players will be competing for a piece of the pie.
The first round draw has been made with reigning world champion Phil 'The Power' Taylor playing former BDO star Colin Monk. James Wade will face Steve Brown while Raymond Van Barneveld takes on Warren Parry.
