Fernando Alonso expects Ferrari to improve

Fernando Alonso has said that Ferrari's start to the F1 season in Australia was "not the start we wanted" but expects a significant improvement in Malaysia.

Alonso told Ferrari's website that his poor start, which saw him fall to ninth, was the main reason he only achieved fourth place.

"If I'd not found myself ninth I'd have been able to fight to the end for the lower steps of the podium," he said.

"It's important to prepare well for the next two, which are back-to-back."
