Elton John gives up pop music ahead of summer shows

Sir Elton John has vowed never to release another pop song, because he doesn't think his work is as good as other modern artists'. Despite his success with numerous hit songs over the years, the singer thinks it's time to stop making new music, as he does not believe he can compete with the likes of JLS and Lady GaGa.

Elton John tickets are available for three summer open air shows to take place in June 2011. Full details are as follows:

Greenhous Meadow Stadium, Shrewsbury 12th June

Northamptonshire County Cricket club, Northampton 25th

Sussex County Cricket Ground, Hove 26th
