Depeche Mode were back on the road after frontman Dave Gahan recovered from an operation to remove a tumour from his bladder.


Depeche Mode performed in Leipzig, Germany last night, which was the date the band announced they would return to the stage after doctors ordered Dave Gahan to rest.


Cancelled shows due to Dave Gahan's illness are due to be rescheduled at a later date, where tickets purchased will remain valid.


Dave Gahan fell illin Athens, Greece in early May suffering fromgastroenteritiswhilst on the Depeche Mode Tour Of The Universe after the April release of the album Sounds Of The Universe.


After last night's show in Leipzig, Dave Gahan declared"I'm grateful to the fans for showing their support and thankful to my family, friends and all of the doctors who looked after me so well. Being back onstage is an incredible feeling and I'm looking forward to each and every show."


Depeche Mode fans who missed out on seeing them live this Summer will be pleased to hear that tickets are still available for the Depeche Mode tour in December this year.


Depeche Mode will be performing at the major UK arenas, like two dates at the London O2 Arena (December 15 & 16) before drawing the tour to a close at the Manchester Evening News Arena (December 18).
