Changes to Silverstone circuit make it a more exciting watch

This time last year, there was severe doubt raised over whether Silverstone would host the British Grand prix, but Donington Park was unable to guarantee the funds required for the event. Silverstone's rights to the event are now secured for the next seventeen years, but it was clear that the track was not friendly enough to overtakers.

Silverstone organisers now hope that they have corrected this issue, with a string of alterations that have included lengthening the track by some 0.472 miles to give it a total length of 3.666 miles. The famous Abbey corner is no longer a chicane but a slalom first to the right then left, which is followed by a section of complex meanders. Drivers have been fulsome in their praise, and the 2010 race looks set to be even more exciting than ever before, while as ever at Silverstone, the atmosphere will be second to none.
