Sebastian Chabal has apologised after being banned for his comments criticising referees.
The 33-year-old France star was suspended for the comments made in a newspaper ahead of the release of his autobiography. Chabal suggested in the article that referees favoured Castres, the rivals of his team, Racing Metro.
Im sorry that this caused controversy. Im sorry if people were hurt. I apologise for it because I didn't want to attack anyone, Chabal told French television station RTL.
Im sorry for what came out in an article in a certain newspaper this Sunday. In my book I talk about refereeing in a good-natured way. Theres 10 pages or so and you cant just take words like that out of context.
