Brian O'Driscoll turns down royal wedding invite

Brian O'Driscoll is set to dodge his invitation to the royal wedding in order to prepare for Saturday's European Cup semi-final.

Leinster captain O'Driscoll will lead out his team against Toulouse in Dublin, and is keen to prepare well to secure a victory even if it means missing the wedding.

Extra spice is added to the fixture as the French giants knocked Leinster out of the competition at the same stage last year.

O'Driscoll told the Guardian: "I have a captain's run on Friday and as big an honour as it was to be invited, I can't ask for team runs to be at half-six in the evening so I can go to the wedding. The team ethos comes first."
