Arcade Fire nominated for Polaris Music Prize

Arcade Fire have been nominated for the prestigious Canadian award for their third album.
The award, described as the Canadian equivalent of the UK's Mercury Music Prize, can list bands such as Final Fantasy and Caribou amongst the past winners. Arcade Fire have been nominated for their third album, The Suburbs. Other nominees include Austra, Destroyer and Ron Sexsmith.
Arcade Fire are to play two UK shows this summer, at the Manchester Evening News Arena on August 31st and a prestigious show at the Edinburgh Castle on September 1st.
