Andrew Strauss believes England can win Down Under

England's batting display has inspired the team with much needed confidence ahead of the Second Test. Andrew Strauss said that he believes they can now go on to win the notoriously hard away fixture. Strauss claims that although England suffered a shaky start and came undone after an impressive Australian bowling display on the first day, Cook, Strauss and Trott showed composure to secure a huge 517 for 1 in the second innings, with Cook and Trott hitting a historic 329 not out.

One of the best batting displays in Ashes history means that England feel they have turned their luck around, and shown the Australians that they will be tough to beat in the next tests. Captain Strauss will lead the team into the Second Test on Friday.
