Andrew Sheridan out of Six Nations
By James Barnes, on 1st March 2011, 17:34 UTC
England prop Andrew Sheridan will most likely miss the rest of the Six Nations tournament with a calf injury.
The influential 31-year-old was replaced before half time during Englands 17-9 win over France last weekend, after previously missing the Italy game with a back injury. England will be hoping his replacement in that game, Alex Corbisiero, can continue to impress in Sheridan's absence.
Toby flood is confident he will recover from an achilles problem in time to face Scotland. Like Sheridan, the 25-year-old was unable to last the distance in the win over France. Jonny Wilkinson came on after 51 minutes and scored a penalty with his first kick of the game.
Lewis Moody should return in time for the Calcutta Cup clash, but will have to fight for his place against Tom Wood. Touted by many as the find of the tournamount, Wood has been impressive so far and will be disappointed to be replaced, even if it is by the England captain.
England v Scotland tickets are available now. The match takes place on March 13th.
