Verdi's Aida, an opera based on a scenario written by French Egyptologist Auguste Mariette and first performed in December 1871, is returning to the Royal Opera House for the first revival of David McVicar's production, new last season.
The cast bring to life the high drama, violence and rituals of Verdi's masterpiece, with Latonia Moore playing captured Princess Aida while Dangwon Shin is the warrior Radames.
The clever production brings to life a distant culture, driven by war and rituals. With tragedy, intensity, memorable music and an incredible finale, Aida is a must see.
Aida tickets are available now.
